Common Compyle Questions

Frequently asked Compyle questions.

Data Collection

  • Why is the field type greyed out for my survey question?

    • Once a question is saved, you are no longer able to edit the field type.

    • You could instead create a new question with the field type you desire, then mark the other question as inactive or delete the field if you have no data linked to it.

  • Why am I getting a message saying the survey is closed when it is showing In Progress?

  • Why aren't my form logic rules are applying?

    • Check if the fields have been archived, made visible, or moved to a different section.

    • Be sure to check that the rule is also active, that there are not multiple rules for the same fields, and that the correct field type was selected.

Analytics

  • Why am I unable to create a scorecard feed?

    • If the measure is calculated or has a different timeframe, then you will not be able to create a scorecard feed with that measure.

    • You will also need to ensure the API key from Scorecard (settings > API) is placed under Admin > Instance settings in Compyle to connect the two software’s.

    • Lastly, if you are using a custom calendar or reporting period for the measure, you will want to add the custom calendar ID to Compyle Instance settings.

  • What happens to In Progress responses when a survey instance is closed and how does that affect Scorecard Feeds?

    • The partial entries will be saved when the survey instance is closed.

    • The incomplete responses/In Progress responses are not included in the data fed to Scorecard.

    • While the instance is closed, the In Progress responses will not be editable by the responders.

    • Once the instance is reopened,

      • The responders can access and complete the in-progress responses

      • After they finish, the survey instance can be closed again.

      • The newly completed responses will then be available for use in calculations & feeds.

    • The updated data will likely need to be fed to Scorecard again.

  • Why is my calculation off?

    • On the left side of the screen, select the Edit button for that calculation.

    • Make sure:

      • The questions associated with that specific calculation are the correct questions.

      • The survey has been completed.

      • There is data entered for those questions.

    • Restarting and completing the survey might fix the issue.

  • Why is my survey not appearing when I try to create a compylation?

    • There must be at least one completed survey instance, otherwise that survey will not appear.
