What is a Scorecard?
A scorecard is a canvas on which scorecard objects are placed - collections of related information toward a goal of reporting and presentation.
The four objects that comprise a typical scorecard are results, indicators, programs, and performance measures. Results and programs are directly linked to a scorecard. Indicators generally appear on the scorecard as a measure of a result, and performance measures appear on the scorecard as a measure of a program.
Terminology for these objects can be modified to suit your methodology or preference. For example, you may prefer to use the word Strategy or Outcome instead of Result, or use KPI instead of performance measure.
There are some good examples of scorecards you can use in the Tools / Templates menu.
