When viewing a measure, there are default colors and widths for the lines that connect target values, actual values, trend lines, and forecast lines. The key below the graph identifies each line.
In addition, when viewing a data graph’s trend line comparison, there are default colors for the different data comparison lines.
To set the properties of both sets of lines, click the Administration icon and choose Object Management / Graph Settings.
On the Chart Options page, the top section is where you can set the default graph type (Line or Bar), and default time periods. In addition, you can configure the data graph colors and line widths that will be used to connect target and actual values, as well as trends and forecasts. A preview of a sample data graph appears on the right.
Note: These colors differ from those used in color bands, which can also be globally customized.
Below this section you can set the colors for comparison lines. In this example, the data itself will use a black line, the first compared measure uses purple, the next uses blue, etc.
For any changes to either section, be sure to click Save Changes, or you can click Reset to Defaults to start over.
Returning to the data graph, the data lines now reflect the new default colors and widths.
These line colors and thicknesses are also used in Bar graph view.
Switching to trend line comparison, the data itself uses the first selected color (black) while the two compared measures use the second (purple) and third (blue) colors.
The order of compared measures is set according to how they are listed in the Relationships section, under Measures to Compare on Graph. Measure order can be changed by dragging a measure by its three-dot icon.
